Hwang Hee-chan impressed against Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Liverpool head into the international break having won their last three games, all of which proved to be very tricky tests for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The 1-0 win at Sheffield United wasn’t easy, Red Bull Salzburg ran them close in a 4-3 win and Saturday’s victory over Leicester City came thanks to a controversial last-gasp penalty.
The game with Salzburg was a real test for Klopp’s men having been 3-0 up, as they were pegged back by a young and exuberant Salzburg side boasting top young talents like Dominik Szoboszlai and Erling Braut Haaland.
However, it was another attacking player who really impressed, with Hwang Hee-chan scoring their first goal, bringing them back into the game with a superb finish before half time.
The 23-year-old hasn’t had the fanfare of Haaland or Szoboszlai, but Hwang was superb in the Salzburg attack, showing great pace, work rate and skill.
Interestingly, Spurs have tracked Hwang in recent times. Last year, the London Evening Standard reported that Tottenham had been scouting the South Korean star, who was keen to follow Son Heung-min to North London.
Hwang somewhat fell off the radar last season, notching just two goals and two assists in 21 games on loan at Hamburg, which seemingly ruled out any prospect of a move to a huge Premier League club.

Yet with a staggering seven goals and 10 assists in just 11 games this season, Hwang is getting back to his best, and his outstanding performance against Salzburg on Wednesday surely impressed Tottenham once again.
Showing he can excel against a top Premier League side is a major show of his quality, but also that his difficult stay in Germany has helped round him as a player, and he’s now ready to fulfil his potential.
Spurs were toothless against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, and may need another attacker in January. A player like Son and Lucas Moura, who can play up top or out wide, would be ideal, and Hwang would fit the bill.
He wouldn’t even be a bank-breaking signing for Spurs, which would be ideal for Daniel Levy, and if they did shelve their interest over the last year, they should be ready to pursue Hwang again after his display at Anfield.
