Don Hutchison has suggested on Twitter that the defeat to Arsenal will speed up Liverpool’s chase of Thiago Alcantara.

According to AbendZeitung, Liverpool will complete the signing of Thiago from Bayern Munich soon (click here to read more).

Bild has also claimed of interest in the 29-year-old Spain international central midfielder from the Premier League champions (click here to read more).

Former Liverpool midfielder Hutchison believes that the Reds’ defeat to Arsenal in the FA Community Shield on Saturday evening will speed up the Merseyside outfit’s reported quest to bring Thiago to Anfield.

The ESPN pundit also praised Naby Keita for his performance for Jurgen Klopp’s side against the Gunners at Wembley Stadium in London.

Good signing for Liverpool?

Liverpool were far from their best against Arsenal on Saturday evening, although one must remember that it was the FA Community Shield and teams are still in pre-season mode.

However, there is no doubt that Thiago would be a brilliant signing for the Reds, as the central midfielder controls the game from the middle of the park, drives the team forward, and makes his presence felt.
