If Liverpool win at Manchester United on Sunday, there’s a good chance Mohamed Salah will have a starring role.
The 29-year-old is enjoying an unbelievable season for Liverpool, netting 12 goals across all competitions already.
And you would think that Salah will play a massive part in the victory if Jurgen Klopp’s side do come away from Old Trafford with all three points.
But Don Hutchison has intimated that there’s another player who could ‘destroy’ the Red Devils – and it isn’t Sadio Mane either.
In between Mane and Salah could be Roberto Firmino, who netted a hat-trick in the Premier League win at Watford last weekend.
The Brazilian isn’t as much of a goalscorer as the two Liverpool lads on either side of him, but his link-up play and creativity makes him an invaluable piece of Klopp’s jigsaw.
And Hutchison, speaking to Optus Sport, suggests that the former Hoffenheim star could cause Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side a myriad of problems around the 18-yard box.
He said: “Firmino’s the one. He makes the game look ridiculously easy. That’s where Firmino picks the ball up, just outside the 18-yard box. That area for Liverpool if they get it right, they could destroy Man United.”
Joy to watch
In this kind of form, Firmino really is a joy to watch.
As Hutchison pointed out, he does indeed make the sport look stupidly simple but, by the same token, the things that he does are also so complex by nature.
In terms of skill and creativity, this is absolutely someone who could cause United serious trouble and if Solskjaer’s midfield and defence aren’t it, that’s precisely what the South American star will do.
