Don Hutchison told ESPN that Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is ‘ahead’ of his Tottenham rival Jose Mourinho.
The former midfielder thinks the Italian is the ‘highest ranked’ manager in the Premier League behind Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool and Manchester City’s high-flying boss, Pep Guardiola.
Both Ancelotti and Mourinho have enjoyed trophy-laden careers and not many in world football touch the records that they have earned during their careers.
And after Hutchison was asked who he deems as the next best after Klopp and Guardiola, he issued this response.
“I think Carlo Ancelotti has to be in the conversation, doesn’t he?!” said Hutchison. “The trophies that he has won and the club’s he has managed.
“I think he certainly has to be in there. I think he’s ahead of Mourinho. I think Klopp and Guardiola are way out on their own, in terms of the Premier League and probably in Europe.
“But I think Carlo has to come into that conversation.”

Ancelotti recently got the better of Mourinho when his Everton side knocked them out of the FA Cup, but they were soon dumped out by the seemingly unstoppable force that is Manchester City.
Both Everton and Spurs are vying for Champions League places at the end of the season, with the eighth-placed side two points and places behind Spurs with a game in hand.
On paper, it could be argued that those in North London have a better squad, but by the end of it, the Toffees might just be the one finishing ahead of the League Cup finalists.
