Pedri has been nothing short of a phenom for FC Barcelona over the past two seasons, and the teenage midfielder last night asserted himself as one of the best players in world football after a moment of magic.

The teenage sensation scored the winning goal for Xavi Hernandez’s side as Barcelona claimed a massive 1-0 victory against Sevilla, yet the skill on show from Pedri was something else, and it left one Gary Lineker speechless.

Taking to Twitter, the Match of the Day pundit posted two tweets on Pedri as the midfielder sent three Sevilla defenders on their way for some tapas before leathering the ball into the back of the net to give Barcelona the lead

Indeed, such a goal was a statement moment from Pedri that should put the Barcelona star in the discussion as one of the best players in world football, and it is no wonder why Liverpool are interested in the Spanish international.

The Mirror have previously reported that Jurgen Klopp’s side are interested in Pedri, yet with the Barcelona star having a €1bn (£840m) release clause, the chances of Liverpool actually signing the 19-year-old are next to zero.

At 19, Pedri is already comfortably one of the best midfielders in world football and a player who is well on his way in becoming a legend at Barcelona, with his goal this weekend a real highlight for the teenager.

With Xavi now getting the Catalan giants back to their best, Pedri will play a key role in the coming years in pushing the La Liga side back to the top of European football, much to the dismay of Liverpool.
