At the start of the season Hull City were considered certainties for relegation, but they should not be written off just yet.

As Hull City prepare for a huge six-pointer against Middlesbrough, it is important to look at where the club currently find themselves in the Premier League. Down in 19th is not where they would have wanted to be obviously, but it is definitely where all the fans and experts were predicting they would end up.

That point is key. Going under the radar can prove to be instrumental in a team’s success story, and the less people talk about what Mike Phelan is doing at the club the better.

Then in terms of capabilities, all you need to do is look towards results so far this season. Sure they have struggled, but in a number of games they have shown that they have what it takes to hang on for a crucial point or victory.

Just look at their home form as an example. Whilst it has not been perfect, the recent results against Southampton and West Brom prove that they can pop up with a few surprises here and there. Everyone will be going to the KCOM Stadium expecting three points, which makes the Tigers very dangerous.

An unknown manager, an underrated team and a chip on their shoulder are three big ingredients that can lead towards a great comeback story.
