Aston Villa-owned defender Tommy Elphick impressed the Hull City fans with his performance on debut for the Tigers.

A number of Hull City fans have lauded Tommy Elphick after the Aston Villa-owned defender helped the Tigers to only their second win of the season at the weekend.
Elphick joined Hull on loan in the final hours of the transfer window after a largely torrid spell with the Villans which has seen the centre-back struggle to establish himself in Steve Bruce’s plans. He did however, manage to score against the Tigers during the opening weekend of the campaign.
But life at the KCOM Stadium has started brightly for Elphick, as he helped Nigel Adkins’ men secure a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town, who remain at the bottom of the Championship.
After the game, Elphick took to social media to comment on the victory – and his tweet prompted several Hull fans to send him messages congratulating him on his performance.

It would appear that the messages sent to Elphick may well annoy a number of the Aston Villa fans. While the defender never quite managed to win everyone over at Villa Park, it was still seen as a poor move from Bruce to let him go in the summer.
The Villans lack defensive options and that weakness has been exposed in the early weeks of the campaign, so seeing Elphick do well on his Hull debut will undoubtedly frustrate the Villa supporters even more.

Here is Elphick’s tweet as well as the responses from the Hull fans…
