A number of Hull City fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Sun on Sunday (4/8; page 67) from the weekend which suggested that Celtic could be interested in Stephen Kingsley should they sell Kieran Tierney.

Tierney’s future continues to appear to be up in the air. The Sun has reported that Arsenal have been in talks with the Scottish Premiership champions for several weeks, and with the English transfer window closing this week, it seems that the saga is about to come to an end.

Should Tierney leave Parkhead, The Sun on Sunday (4/8; page 67) reported that Celtic will consider a move for Kingsley, who is set to be available during the final stages of the window with the Tigers keen to offload his wages.

The report noted that Hull may make him available for a loan move, seemingly suggesting that any side interested in the 25-year-old is likely to have an easier time trying to get a deal done.

But it should perhaps alarm Celtic that a good number of fans that see him week-in, week-out are very keen to see Neil Lennon’s men take him away from the KCOM Stadium. He has struggled to win over the supporters, and was disappointing at the weekend as Hull opened their campaign with a defeat to Swansea.

Replacing Tierney is going to be a huge task for whoever comes in, even with Lennon strengthening the Bhoys’ options earlier in the summer. And based on what some of the Hull fans make of the reports, it would appear that Kingsley may have a massive point to prove if Celtic do indeed target him this summer.
