Only 18 months ago, Hull City’s Andrew Robertson made a prediction that Celtic’s Kieran Tierney would go on to bigger and better things (Daily Record).
And with Tierney again linked with a move to Arsenal this month (Daily Mirror), the teenager’s time could be on the horizon.
However, were one Lennoxtown product to leave Celtic in the near future, would another be the perfect replacement?
Robertson, who is three years’ Tierney’s senior, also began life in the Bhoys’ youth ranks, but was released at the age of 15 after being deemed too small.
Now standing at a strapping five-feet-10-inches, Robertson is a Premier League regular at Hull and a Scotland international to boot, competing – funnily enough – with Tierney for a Tartan Army starting berth.
And while the 23-year-old has admitted to hating his Celtic Park exit, having grown up a fan of the reigning – and soon-to-be again – Scottish champions, he added the decision has proved the best of his career so far.
With Hull two points adrift of safety, however, Robertson could soon have one of his own to make – face another season in the Championship or seek a move elsewhere.

Should the Glaswegian choose the latter, it is plausible the Tigers would be ready to oblige, given that his contract expires in 2018 – at which point he’d be free to leave the KCOM Stadium for nothing.
And with the money banked from Tierney’s sale likely to be well into double figures, Celtic – who recorded a healthy profit for the six-month period to the end of Decemeber 2016 – should have little trouble meeting Robertson’s asking price.
