Steve Bruce was appointed Aston Villa manager on Wednesday.
He has signed him twice already but new Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce will not be bringing son Alex to the Midlands, the Hull City defender has explained on Twitter.

Bruce Jnr followed his father to Birmingham City and Hull but when asked by a fan on Twitter if he would be making it a hat-trick, the Northern Ireland international replied:
Aston Villa added Tommy Elphick and James Chester, who worked with the Bruces at Hull, to their central defensive ranks during the summer transfer window, with Micah Richards and Nathan Baker already on the books.

And while a reunion may not be on the cards, Bruce Jnr has backed his old man to bring the good times back to Villa Park, adding:
Bruce Jnr featured 11 times as Hull were promoted from last season’s Championship under the Aston Villa boss’s guidance, but is yet to make an appearance this season due to injury.
The 32-year-old, who has been capped by both Irish national teams, has also played for Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Leicester City in England’s second tier.
