Hull City are going under the radar as the next potential yo-yo club in the Premier League.
The same pattern follows every yo-yo club in the history of the top flight.
Relegation, promotion, relegation and so on and so forth. Hull City are currently mastering that art to a tee having bounced back and forth between the Premier League and the Championship for a few years now, and it shows no signs of stopping.
Under Mike Phelan the Tigers find themselves being led by a man in his first big managerial position, and whilst he’s faring relatively well considering how ill prepared they were after a woeful transfer window, the club look destined for another season of struggles.
The squad is in dire need of a revamp and given how they have started the current campaign, relegation is a serious possibility.

However, they have maintained a core squad that know how to get the job done in the division below.
If they do indeed slip through the trap door once again there’s a great chance they will go right back up again the following year, which must be an exhausting process for Hull fans.
There’s no right way to cure the syndrome of being a yo-yo club, but it starts with stability. Mike Phelan needs to be given time to build a solid foundation at the KCOM Stadium in order to solidify himself as a top manager.
If that does not happen, Hull could end up regretting letting go of him so hastily.
