The Hull City forward wasn’t impressed with EA Sports depiction of him on their new release FIFA 17.

Hull City v Leicester City - Premier LeagueAdama Diomande scores for Hull City

Around the country and around the continent football stars have been taking to Twitter to endorse hit video game FIFA 17 on its official European release date today. Cover star Marco Reus tweeted “Looking gooood guys!” in relation to the game, whilst Chelsea star Eden Hazard told fans that he “Can’t wait to play guys!”.

Other ringing endorsements have come in from Manchester United’s teenage sensation Marcus Rashford, Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend and even retired Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who is a ‘legend’ on the game (on Xbox only). Just about anyone who’s anyone in football took to social media to encourage people to play the game or give their views on their own rating.

There was one man who didn’t though; Hull City forward Adama Diomande. The Norwegian international, who scored an unorthodox synchronised bicycle kick with Abel Hernandez against champions Leicester on the opening day of the season, had more pressing concerns; why did his avatar look absolutely nothing like him?

Diomande Tweet

Diomande, who has started every league game for Hull City so far this season, tweeted, “Who dat? had a scanning with @EASPORTSFIFA last month, only positive is the haircut”, followed by a clenched fist emoji.

The 26-year-old former Dinamo Minsk man does seem to have a point. One glance at Diomande and his FIFA avatar shows that the two look nothing alike. With Diomande only a bit-part player for Hull City last season in the Championship, EA perhaps thought they could get away without paying too much attention to the Norwegian.

However, Hull City’s woeful pre-season campaign which saw them start the season with just 13 fit senior players has made Diomande a pivotal figure in the early rounds of fixtures, and the eagle-eyed forward wasn’t willing to overlook the poor likeness.
