The Tigers boss Nigel Adkins and forward Jarrod Bowen won Manager of the Month and Player of the Month respectively.

Hull City are celebrating their manager and one of their players both being recognised by the Championship for their efforts over December.
Tigers boss Nigel Adkins has won the Championship’s Manager of the Month award, while Jarrod Bowen is December’s Player of the Month in the second tier.
Hull racked up an impressive 16 points from a possible 18 in December, beating Queens Park Rangers, Brentford, Swansea City, Preston North End and leaders Leeds United.
As a result, the Tigers have come out of the relegation zone and into mid-table, and Adkins’ achievements over the month were judged above those of Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, Lee Johnson of Bristol City and Darren Moore of West Bromwich Albion.
Bowen was a key component of Hull’s revival in the final month of 2018, arguably rediscovering last season’s scoring form with six goals in as many matches, plus an assist, to help the team into 14th place from their month’s start in the bottom three.
Here is how some Hull fans have reacted on Twitter to the double accolade:
Hull began the year with a 6-0 thrashing of Bolton Wanderers in the Championship, although they subsequently went out of the FA Cup at the hands of Millwall in the third round.
