Hull City fans are raving about Aston Villa loanee Tommy Elphick, after his latest performance.

Elphick was deemed to be surplus to requirements at Villa by former boss Steve Bruce.

Even though Villa had a lack of options at centre-back, Bruce felt that letting Elphick go was the best course of action.

The 31-year-old has since gone on to catch the eye at Hull, and his showing at the weekend was highly impressive.

Hull picked up a 1-0 win over promotion chasing West Bromwich Albion, and Elphick was at his commanding best.

And Hull fans have now lauded the Villa loanee on social media website Twitter.

Villa fans are likely to be frustrated with Elphick’s good form, as they could have done with him at times this season.

The claret and blues have been left short at the back on occasion, with new boss Dean Smith admitting his options in central defence are limited.

Villa are thought to have the option to recall Elphick from his loan at Hull in January.
