Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has urged his side to stay humble following their huge 2-0 victory over Manchester City.

An unbeaten start to the campaign has seen the club rocket up the league table, with their 2-0 victory over favourites Manchester City at the weekend putting them right in the title race. As reported by London Evening Standard, goalkeeper Lloris has stated that he wants the team to remain as humble as possible following the win.
The triumph over City proved that it is going to be tight when it comes to who wins the title this season, with so many teams fighting for contention.
“It was also important to win before an international break but we must remember that the season is long and we must always be humble,” he told the club’s official website.

“Our team is still young but there is a big appetite here, we are all hungry to get great performances.
“In football, it’s a lot about belief and we have some strong basics that we are building up now from the beginning of the Mauricio Pochettino era,” he added.

Out of everyone Pochettino will likely be the man to echo the Frenchman’s remarks, with overconfidence proving a decisive factor in past years for some sides.
Regardless, the early signs are great for this young Spurs team who some thought would fall away following their disappointing end to the season in 2015/16. The spirit within the squad is evident and the fact they clocked up this win without star man Harry Kane is a big sign.
