Hugo Lloris believes that Paul Pogba will only get better in the future.
France’s Hugo Lloris makes a save
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris believes that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will only get better in the future.
Pogba produced a superb performance in France’s 3-2 win over England on Wednesday night, and Lloris reckons that the former Juventus midfielder has proved a point to his critics.
The 24-year-old joined United from Juventus for an £89 million world record transfer fee last season. Although he was brilliant in patches, he has been accused of not justifying his world record price tag.
France’s Paul Pogba
Lloris says that he has no doubt that Pogba will only get better and better.
“Maybe he had some things to prove, because he belongs to one of the best clubs in the world and he plays in the Premier League, and he has to show his level,” said Lloris, as quoted by The Telegraph.
“Against England, he was fantastic and as a midfielder he helped the team a lot to manage the ball. I have no doubt that he will get better and better.”
Monaco’s Thomas Lemar celebrates scoring their second goal
Several members of the France national team have been linked with a move to the Premier League. One of them is Thomas Lemar, who is being reportedly targeted by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
When Lloris was asked whether he has spoken to Lemar about joining Spurs, the Frenchman refused to discuss it.
“You’re right to ask the question, but I cannot reply!,” Lloris added.
However, he did add that Premier League is very exciting, and that all the clubs have the capacity and ability to sign the best players in the world.
