Tottenham Hotspur lost 13 times in the Premier League last season, which was more than any other top six side.

Tottenham Hotspur stopper Hugo Lloris has admitted to the London Evening Standard that his side need to start converting losses into draws.

Lloris felt that Spurs simply were too easy to beat last season, as they lost 13 of their Premier League matches.

Tottenham were beaten as many times as Wolverhampton Wanderers last term, and lost more times than any other team in the top six.

Spurs made it into the top four as they won so many matches, as they only drew two games all season.

And Lloris wants Spurs to be much tougher to get past this time around.

“One thing that we try to improve this season: if you cannot win, it’s important to not lose the game, especially against an opponent like Manchester City,” the £100,000-a-week stopper (Telegraph) said.

“If you want to stay in contact with the best team in the Premier League, it’s important to get this feeling. There were some games that we lost [last term] that we should have drawn. We all know the difficulty of playing at City, so it’s a good feeling to build confidence.”

Spurs have made a good start to achieving Lloris’s aim, as they went to the Etihad Stadium and picked up a draw against Manchester City last weekend.

Tottenham were outplayed for much of the contest, but showed great resilience in the end to get a 2-2 draw against the champions.

Spurs are next in action against struggling Newcastle United at the weekend, which gives them a good chance to extend their unbeaten run.
