Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side made it through in the Champions League last night.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has told BT Sport, during their live coverage, that Fernando Llorente was the one who informed him of the score in Inter Milan’s contest against PSV.

Tottenham needed to match Inter’s result last night to ensure that they progressed to the next round of the Champions League.

It was fully expected that Inter would beat PSV in front of their own fans, but they could only manage a draw.

It meant that Spurs only needed to score one goal at the Nou Camp in the closing stages to progress, rather than two to win the game that was initially expected.

However, the Spurs players only found out very late on in the game, when Llorente came on as a substitute.

“Only when Nando came on. I asked him on the corner and he said to me 1-1,” Lloris said, when asked when he found out what was happening in the Inter game.

Llorente managed to make the impact Pochettino had wanted him to after coming on against Barca, as he helped Spurs get the all important late leveller.

Lucas Moura crashed the ball home after a brilliant ball in from Harry Kane, to earn Spurs a 1-1 draw against the Catalan giants.

Tottenham will now find out who they face in the Champions League knockout stages on Friday.
