Tottenham Hotspur managed to pick up a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid yesterday.

Hugo Lloris has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official Twitter account that he was keen to keep Harry Kane’s feet on the ground before walking out at the Bernabeu last night.

Tottenham took on Real Madrid in Champions League action, and they passed one of the toughest tests in football.

Spurs picked up a 1-1 draw during the contest, with their impressive performance earning a lot of praise.

And Lloris has suggested that he was keen to ensure that his Spurs teammates did not get carried away before the match.

“I said to Harry and the young players, don’t forget where we’re from,” Lloris revealed.

“Three years ago we were in the Europa League. Last season we discovered the Champions League and we were a bit disappointed with our performances. This season we can be proud.”

Lloris and Kane are two of Spurs’ longest-serving players, so they know all about the progress that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have made in recent years.

Tottenham competed well with Madrid last night, and could have taken the three points.

Kane and Christian Eriksen both had chances to win the encounter for Spurs, but in the end the North London side had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Tottenham have now played three matches in this season’s Champions League and they remain unbeaten.
