Hugo Lloris outlines relationship with Daniel Levy, comments on contract decision

Hugo Lloris recently signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has explained to The Mirror why he recently signed a new contract.

Just before Christmas, Lloris put pen to paper on a new deal with Tottenham which will run until 2022.

The France international goalkeeper has explained why he decided to commit his long-term future to Spurs.

The 30-year-old has also revealed that he has a good relationship with club chairman Daniel Levy.

“The major factor behind my decision was my belief in the team and in my manager,” the French goalkeeper told The Mirror.

“That is very important. I have huge faith in Mauricio Pochettino. He has brought a lot to the club and to all the players.

“I also have a good ­relationship with all the people involved with the club – with the fans and the chairman Daniel Levy. I feel good and the new contract shows my ­commitment to Spurs.”

Lloris has been on the books of Spurs since the summer of 2012 when he moved from French club Lyon for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £11.8 million.

The Frenchman is a world-class player and is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

Tottenham are going strong in the Premier League at the moment and are n the running for a top-four finish.

Tying down a player like Lloris to a long-term contract is a sign that Spurs are serious about establishing themselves as a club who challenge for top honours year after year.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will face Chelsea at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
