Tottenham are without a win in their last six games ahead of Sunday’s crucial derby.

Hugo Lloris has admitted that following the club’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham Hotspur could not be in a worse situation heading into Sunday’s North London derby, the London Evening Standard reports.

Following the 1-0 loss at Wembley, Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently third in their Champions League group and two points adrift of the Bundesliga side who occupy the pool’s second qualification spot.

But more worryingly for Spurs, they go into the clash with Arsenal having not won any of their last six games in all competitions, and have lost two of their last three games.

And Lloris has conceded that they will need a dramatic upturn in form if they hope to claim the bragging rights at the weekend.

“We cannot be in a worse situation,” he said, as reported by the London Evening Standard.

“It is difficult to accept that kind of performance. It was difficult to recognise the team, very aggressive and calm under pressure. That was completely the opposite.

“We need to learn quickly because there is a big game on Sunday. The derby is always important and we need to forget about this disappointment and be ready.”

In many respects, the derby may be the perfect fixture to drag Tottenham out of their current rut. The importance of the game often means that previous form largely goes out the window as some players rise to the occasion.

And Pochettino will surely be reminding his players that they are still unbeaten in the Premier League this season, so they can take plenty of confidence from that particular run rather than dwell on their most recent results in all competitions.
