Hugo Lloris has signed a new long-term contract with Tottenham Hotspur recently, but suggested that his future may not be cut and dry.

Hugo Lloris has suggested to French newspaper Le Figaro that his happiness at Tottenham may well depend on whether Mauricio Pochettino sticks around, before outlining just how highly he regards the Spurs boss.

According to Sky Sports, Lloris has seemingly committed his long-term future to the Premier League side by signing a contract until 2022.

However, he has been linked with a move to Real Madrid (via Telegraph) and Paris Saint-Germain (via Sky Sports) this season. And he hinted that where his future lies may depend on what happens with Pochettino, who is also attracting PSG’s attention (via Sky Sports).

“My destiny is linked to Mauricio, it’s a certainty,” he told Le Figaro.

“He matters a lot to me. Our relationship goes beyond football, it’s a match, and one day he will be the best manager in the world. For me he is already. His presence and our relationship are the most important elements for me.”

The news may prove a major boost to the Tottenham fans who are confident that Pochettino will stay put because his admiration for the manager suggests that if the former Southampton boss stays, he will also have no problem sticking around and helping Spurs finish the project they have started.

But for those fearing that Pochettino may perhaps have his head turned by another club in Europe, the news will undoubtedly be worrying for Tottenham, as if PSG, for example, poach Pochettino, then perhaps Lloris will find the idea of moving to Parc des Princes very tempting indeed.
