Patrick Vieira has praised Tottenham Hotspur and France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on ITV (11:01pm, June 29, 2021).
The Arsenal legend has said that Lloris’s penalty save in normal time during France’s defeat to Switzerland on Monday evening was fantastic.
Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy was also impressed by the penally save from Spurs goalkeeper Lloris.
Mendy wrote on Twitter, as translated from French: “thank you Hugo by the way it’s part of the real thing)”
The left-back added: “I was on the verge of making a Momo, happily he pulls it out.”
Vieira said about Lloris on ITV (11:01pm, June 29, 2021): “That was the key moment, I think, the penalty stop by Lloris. It gave back France the confidence. Lloris made a fantastic save and that kept the French team in the game.”

Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and the Tottenham star showed that once again on Monday evening.
France may have ended as the losing team in the Euro 2020 Round of 16 tie against Switzerland, but the 34-year-old cannot be blamed at all.
It was actually the Tottenham goalkeeper who kept France in the game until the penalty shootout.
Switzerland were leading 1-0 at the time and had the chance to make it 2-0 from the penalty spot.
Benjamin Pavard was adjudged to have committed a foul on Steven Zuber inside the box, and Ricardo Rodríguez stepped up to take the resulting penalty.
Lloris made a brilliant save to keep the score 1-0, and just two minutes later Karim Benzema scored to make it 1-1.
Unfortunately for Lloris, France lost the penalty shootout 5-4 after the game had ended 3-3 following extra time.
