Hugo Lloris comments should allay any concerns about new stadium atmosphere

Tottenham Hotspur will move into a new stadium in the summer of 2018.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has told the club’s official website that the atmosphere at the new stadium is going to be great.

Lloris has also stated that Tottenham’s new stadium, which is under construction under the moment, is compact.

Spurs plan to move into their new stadium next season, and are currently playing their home matches at the Wembley Stadium.

The France international goalkeeper told Tottenham’s official website: ”It’s very impressive and so compact.

“When it’s full it’s going to be awesome. We are looking forward – we need a big, big atmosphere in this stadium.

“It’s going to be very modern, one of the best in Europe and we are lucky to be part of this project.”

Allaying any worries

The ‘old’ White Hart Lane was one of the best stadiums in the Premier League in terms of compactness, and opposition teams found it tough.

While some Tottenham fans may have been worried about the new stadium lacking atmosphere due to the bigger size, Lloris’s comments show that it will not be case.

The new stadium will be accommodate 62,000 fans, and that is going to make it very tough for opposition fans

Lloris has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2012 when he joined from Lyon for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £11.8 million – a bargain signing given that he has developed to become one of the goalkeepers in the world and is still only 31 years of age.
