Spurs remain in third place despite losing to Burnley on Saturday.

Hugo Lloris has told BeIN Sports that Tottenham Hotspur missed a “big opportunity” to pile pressure on both Liverpool and Manchester City on Saturday – but failed to rule out a title challenge.
Spurs were expected to beat Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday as they travelled to Lancashire to take on Sean Dyche’s side, but goals from Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes cancelled out Harry Kane’s equaliser.
A win for Mauricio Pochettino’s side could have seen them close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City to just two points, with the latter sides starting the weekend five points ahead of Spurs, level on 65.
City had played a game more than Spurs and Liverpool, but the Reds failed to capitalise as they drew 0-0 with Manchester United. It sees Spurs sit five behind City and six behind Liverpool, and Lloris reacted after the match.
“We never talk about the title,” Lloris said. “We will see at the end of the season where we will be. We’ll keep fighting to be in a good position, but our main objective remains to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.
“We missed a big chance today, a big opportunity to put pressure on the other teams. But it’s part of the season and we need to deal with that. We will be ready for the next two games.”

Lloris, 32, has conceded just 28 goals in 28 league and cup matches this season, helping the north Londoners keep 11 clean sheets but he could do nothing about Burnley’s goals.
Referee Mike Dean was confronted at the final whistle by Spurs manager Pochettino and his coaching staff, as they felt aggrieved at some of the official’s decision making. Spurs are next in action on Wednesday, as they face Chelsea.
