Hugo Lloris has stated that Christian Eriksen’s desire to leave Tottenham is being ‘respected’ by the players and that there is ‘no problem’ with that.

The senior Tottenham goalkeeper also made it clear that Eriksen proved during the game against Arsenal that he is ‘committed’ to his teammates

Eriksen recently stated that he wishes his future could be solved like ‘football manager’ as he could leave Spurs next summer on a free transfer because that’s when his current contract will come to a close, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Speaking to Sky Sports News (04/09/2019 at 3:45 pm), Lloris shared his thoughts on Eriksen after he signalled intentions in wanting to look for a new challenge after Tottenham’s Champions League final defeat in June [Telegrapgh].

“Obviously there were a lot of rumours during the transfer market [about him wanting to leave],” Lloris told Sky Sports News. “He talked about this subject and we [the players] respect that, but from now until the next transfer market, he will be with us.

“As he showed during the last game against Arsenal, he’s going to be committed towards his teammates and towards the club. But there is no problem at all with that.”

Eriksen has been in and out of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI this season – he has started two of their four Premier League matches – he came off the bench for the win and defeat against Villa and Newcastle.

Over the weekend, however, he was brought back into the starting fold by Pochettino, as he opened the scoring for Spurs during their 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Eriksen is now on international duty with Denmark and when he returns he will be hoping to maintain his place as Tottenham host Crystal Palace.
