Lucas Moura joined Tottenham Hotspur on January transfer deadline day.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has backed January signing Lucas Moura to be a success at the club, as quoted by The Guardian.

Moura joined Tottenham from French giants Paris Saint-Germain on January transfer deadline for a fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £25 million.

The Brazil international winger has arrived at the North London outfit with a strong reputation, and France international goalkeeper Lloris – who has been at the club since 2012 when made the switch from Ligue 1 side Lyon – has backed the 25-year-old to be a success at Spurs.

Lloris told The Guardian about Moura: “I know him, of course, as I follow the French league and he has a different profile which will help us.

“It is true that he hasn’t played often this season with PSG but it is for different reasons, not sporting reasons. He is a great talent.

“He loves the space, is very sharp and quick and is good technically. I think he is going to adapt very quickly and very well in our system.”

Good signing

Moura has not progressed as much as he would have liked to at PSG since his move to the French club in 2013, but there is no doubt that the Brazilian is a quality player.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino knows how to get the best out of his players, and given Moura’s pace, skills and natural ability, he could prove to be a long-term success at Spurs.
