A Dean Gerken own goal and Tomer Hemed penalty were enough to see off Ipswich Town on Saturday
Queens Park Rangers continued their fine away form after they beat Ipswich Town 2-0 at Portman Road on Saturday, with an own goal and a Tomer Hemed penalty proving decisive.
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express their happiness as Steve McClaren’s side have now won three games away from home already this season, the same number they managed in the entirety of the 2017/18 campaign.
Both goals came in the opening half and it didn’t take QPR too long to find their feet, scoring a fortuitous goal with just 13 minutes on the clock. Luke Freeman whipped in a corner that was parried into his own net by Dean Gerken and although there was some debate as to who should be credited with the goal, the scoreline is all that really mattered at that point.
QPR continued to press their hosts and threatened on more than one occasion before Hemed scored his second R’s goal since joining on loan. The striker coolly slotted home from the spot after Eberechi Eze was tripped inside the box on the stroke of half-time.
Boss McClaren saw his side control the rest of the game as the hosts hardly threatened, conjuring up just three efforts on goal all afternoon and it’s now QPR’s fifth clean sheet of the season.
