Everton target Jesse Lingard could remain at Manchester United on deadline day after West Ham confirmed the signed of Dusan Vlasic.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there is now a ‘huge’ chance that the England international will remain in Manchester. The Hammers announced the signing of Vlasic earlier today, with the Guardian reporting that the midfielder was brought in as an alternative to Lingard.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, United have slapped a £30m asking fee for Lingard this summer.
West Ham had been keen to re-sign the attacking midfielder on a permanent deal, but a transfer now looks unlikely.
Indeed, Everton have recently entered the race for the 28-year-old star. However, this update from Fabrizio Romano could have ruined any chance the Toffees have in signing Lingard today.
The transfer window shuts this evening at 11 pm, and Everton are eager to sign both an attacking midfielder as well as a right-back. Time is running out for the Merseyside club, though.

As reported by the Athletic, Everton had made a loan offer for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles. However, the Gunners rejected the deal, with the 24-year-old England international protesting the decision on his social media.
With Maitland-Niles and now Lingard seemingly not happening for Everton, Rafa Benitez is running out of hours to identify and sign players who could fill in two key roles for the Merseyside club.
