Simon Jordan said on talkSPORT (11:21am, March 15, 2021) that Celtic should not appoint Roy Keane as their new manager.

According to The Scottish Sun, former Manchester United midfielder Keane wants to become the new manager of Celtic.

The 49-year-old is without a managerial role at the moment. Keane managed Sunderland and Ipswich Town and worked as an assistant at Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and the Republic of Ireland national football team.

Keane now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, and The Scottish Sun has claimed that he is interested in taking charge of Celtic.

The former United and Forest star played for the Hoops in 2005-06 before retiring from football.

Former Crystal Palace owner Jordan has said that appointing Keane as their manager would be a huge risk for the Hoops.

Jordan said about Keane and Celtic on talkSPORT (11:21am, March 15, 2021): “I think it’s a huge risk of the Roy Keane now that we have got. Roy Keane going into management first time around possibly you could see that whilst the risk could have been there for a newbie, the Roy Keane we have got now, I think as a football manager he is done, he is done.”

Rebuild needed

Celtic have lost the Scottish Premiership title to bitter to Old Firm rivals Rangers and failed to do much of note in Europe this season.

The Scottish giants need a big rebuild in the summer of 2021 and need to bring in better players and offload those who have been underperforming.
