Newcastle fans have been eager to hear more about Adidas amid rumours that they could be replacing Castore at St James’ Park.

Adidas and Newcastle enjoyed a successful partnership together from 1995 to 2010 as some of the most iconic kits in the club’s history were created for the likes of Alan Shearer to run riot in.

Since their relationship came to an end, Newcastle have been represented by Puma and now Castore, although a major hint that Adidas could be coming back to Tyneside has emerged.

What’s the story?

Well – as spotted by Talk of Tyneside on Twitter – the Newcastle club shop is now appearing as a location for Adidas stores, which is very interesting to say the least.

You can see it for yourself on the Adidas official website.

This is not just a reference to an Adidas shop close to the stadium – it is stating that Adidas are selling stock, or will soon be selling their products, in the official Newcastle club shop at St James’ Park.

It comes after the Telegraph claimed that Adidas representatives were at Wembley to watch the 2-0 defeat against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.

Adidas and Newcastle may not be reuniting just yet

While it seems as if Newcastle and Adidas will be resurrecting their partnership, it may not happen in time for next season.

The Times believe that Castore will be providing the kits for Newcastle in the 2023/24 campaign, and have already submitted their designs, including another Saudi Arabia inspired third shirt like this season’s strip.

However, there is nothing to suggest that Adidas wouldn’t then take over and begin making shirts for the 2024/25 season and beyond.

Be sure to keep an eye out for official information from Newcastle, as the rumours are beginning to intensify.
