Conor Coady has made it clear that Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League games against Everton and Manchester United are ‘huge’, regardless of the struggles their rivals are going through.

The two biggest games on Liverpool’s calender throughout their history have always been – Everton and Manchester United.

Well, next week, in the space of five days, Liverpool will host out-of-sorts Manchester United, before taking on their relegation-threatened neighbours in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Whilst Everton beat Man United over the weekend, they are still in trouble in their relegation fight, as things are just going from worse to utterly ridiculous for those from Manchester.

Coady was asked about Liverpool’s run-in as they chase the Premier League title, including his Wolves side playing both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola’s sides, and this is what he told Premier League Productions (10/04/22 at 7:15 pm).

“I don’t think that matters (Everton and Man United’s form),” said Coady. “Them games are massive for Liverpool football club.

“Them games are absolutely huge. In derbies, form goes out of the window – I think it’s how they (Liverpool) react to Champions League and FA Cup games. They have got a lot of games. Incredible football team. But they are in every single competition. And it’s how they recover from that.

On Wolves possibly deciding title race: “Real tough games for us. I can speak on behalf of myself, these are really tough games for us. We are looking forward to it.

“You want to play against the best teams. You want to come up and play them sorts of games. They are fantastic games for us.”

On paper, Liverpool should dispatch both Man United and Everton, but their current situations makes life even more dangerous for them.

When those fixtures come about, it will come off the back of Liverpool playing two gruelling Champions League games and battling with Manchester City in the Premier League and FA Cup.

The Reds may have comprehensively beaten their rivals during the reverse fixtures, but given what is on the line for the title-chasers, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if things are a lot closer this time around.

Either way, they should see this one off because, any drop points now, from either of the top two sides, will just hand the title to the other team.
