West Bromwich Albion have a vital star available once again.
West Bromwich Albion have received a big boost early in the new year with the return to action of goalkeeper Ben Foster.
The England international has been out with a knee injury but he featured for 45 minutes of the Baggies’ under-21 clash against Kidderminster which finished 4-3 to West Brom.
Foster has not featured for Tony Pulis’s side all season, with Boaz Myhill the first-choice stopper and summer signing Anders Lindegaard acting as back-up. But the 32-year-old’s return will be a huge boost for the Baggies, as well as for a player with an eye on this summer’s European Championships.
Foster last played for West Brom back in March 2015 in a Premier League clash against Stoke City, and he could now be set for a timely return in the FA Cup third round match against Bristol City at The Hawthorns this weekend.
That is a decision Pulis will have to make but there is little doubt when he is back to full fitness he will be back between the posts on a regular basis, and in some ways will be like a new signing for the club at a time when others could yet follow.
