Aston Villa target man Jonathan Kodjia will have delighted fans after posting two encouraging videos on his personal Instagram account that showed the Ivorian going through some strenuous ball drills.

The 28-year-old striker has failed to feature for the Midlands giants’ first team since October because of the injury, which forced him to undergo surgery on his ankle last year.

In his place, Scott Hogan has discovered his shooting boots to lead the Villa attack, but Kodjia could now be set to hand Steve Bruce a massive boost as the £15million man could return for his side’s promotion run in.

The former Bristol City striker posted two videos on Instagram that will delight fans with 14 Championship matches still to play, including Tuesday night’s away clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

Since his move to Villa Park, a transfer orchestrated by former manager Roberto Di Matteo, Kodjia has scored an impressive 20 goals in just 44 outings.

He could now return sooner rather than later with Villa in third place, as they look to re-enter the automatic promotion places with three points enough to see then leapfrog Cardiff City if the Welsh outfit drop points against Ipswich on Wednesday.
