It’s not working out for Izzy Brown at Leeds United.

Leeds Uniteds Izzy Brown warms up during the Sky Bet Championship match between Middlesbrough and Leeds United at Riverside Stadium on February 9, 2019 in Middlesbrough, England.

Leeds United are at the business end of the season, with six games to go.

It’s for moment like these that Leeds signed Izzy Brown on loan, taking a gamble on the Chelsea youngster in August in the hope he would recover from injury to make an impact late in the campaign.

Last night Brown was in action for the under-23s again, another hint he will not be involved with the first team squad this evening against Preston.

With just one substitute appearance to his name, Brown’s spell at Leeds has been a flop… barring a dramatic late turnaround. Perhaps in the play-offs?

If the spell carries on it’s disappointing trajectory, Brown’s former loan side Huddersfield must take note.

The Terriers have just been relegated with one of the worst campaigns in Premier League history.

Brown was part of their side which won promotion to the Premier League, and he could do worse than head back there.

He will have upset a few supporters by joining Leeds, but in football terms, Brown would be an asset for Huddersfield.

Both club and player need each other, and as the Terriers look to start afresh, they should be considering a play this summer to bring the Chelsea youngster back to the club.
