Leeds United tied up one signing today as Junior Firpo joined the club – and Huddersfield Town’s Lewis O’Brien could yet follow.
Firpo solves one problem by coming in at left back, but Marcelo Bielsa wants a new midfielder to bolster his side ahead of next season.
The latest link comes with O’Brien, as The Sun claim that Leeds and Bielsa want to raid local rivals Huddersfield Town with a move.
It’s stated that O’Brien could cost around £10million, with Huddersfield seemingly in no mood to let their homegrown talent leave the club.
The 22-year-old may have been born in Colchester, but he rose up through the Huddersfield ranks and hasn’t moved far since; his only loan spell as also in West Yorkshire with Bradford City.
Last term, O’Brien started 39 games under Carlos Corberan, the man who assisted Bielsa at Leeds before leaving last summer – something which may be a factor in Leeds’ interest.

Huddersfield fans are now reacting on Twitter, suggesting that they want O’Brien to join anybody other than their ‘noisy neighbours’ Leeds.
Others called the rumours a joke, but some admitted that they wouldn’t be too fussed if O’Brien left, seemingly feeling that he wasn’t at his best last season.
