HITC Sport understands Huddersfield Town are closing in on the signing of Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol.
Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol is in line for a loan move to Championship rivals Huddersfield Town, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Carayol currently finds himself down the pecking order in Aitor Karanka’s plans and a number of Championship clubs have been monitoring the player’s situation at the Riverside.
The 26-year-old has yet to feature this season for Middlesbrough and the club are ready to loan him out so that he can get regular first-team football.
Carayol suffered a serious knee injury in March 2014, which ruled him out for almost a year before he joined Brighton & Hove Albion at the back end of last season to regain his fitness.
The flying wide-man is still highly-regarded at Middlesbrough and he was handed a new deal last April to keep him at the club until 2017.
Huddersfield boss Chris Powell is thought to be a big admirer of Carayol and sees him as a key addition to his plans as he looks to add to his attacking options at the John Smith’s Stadium.
