With Fernando Llorente still yet to hit the back of the net, Spurs should look to sell Fernando Llorente in January.
Spanish striker Fernando Llorente has now played 16 games for Spurs without a goal following another unimpressive cameo appearance off the bench against Leicester in midweek.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs fought off fierce competition from Chelsea in the summer to land the 32-year-old Spaniard’s signature, however, the £12.1 million signing has failed to secure a starting spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s side having failed to settle in at the North London club.
With Llorente still yet to register a goal in any competition for Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino could look to offload the former Sevilla striker come January.
South Korean forward Son Heung-min is pushing hard for a starting berth and with Pochettino often opting for a one-striker system, it appears the 24-time Spanish international’s career at Spurs is in danger.
Llorente is likely on a hefty wage in North London and former Southampton boss Pochettino could look to free up room on the wage bill for incoming transfers by cutting his losses with the 32-year-old.
There are likely to be plenty of takers for the Spaniard, who demonstrated he still has plenty to offer going forward last season with Swansea, where he notched 15 goals in 33 appearances.
