Aston Villa may have surprised even themselves by scoring four goals at the Etihad, in a memorable 4-2 win for the away side.
Gabby Agbonlahor scored twice and Charles N’Zogbia once, but it was the first name on the Aston Villa score sheet which brought the most smiles to the faces of supporters.
A Gareth Barry own goal. Barry quit Villa for Manchester City in 2009, months after they had been taken over by Sheikh Mansour, and the transfer effectively signalled the start of City phasing Villa out of the clubs competing for the Champions League places.
Supporters were thrilled to see Barry score the own goal, which at the time tied the game at 1-1. Here is a look at some of their reactions on Twitter…
