The January transfer window is set to be eventful for many Premier League clubs, but it could be a rather quiet affair for Bournemouth.

Despite the fact that his side are currently in 18th place in the table, Howe has revealed that he is unlikely to bring in any new players next month, as reported by Sky Sports.

Howe refused to rule out the possibility of making a signing if an opportunity arises, but it seems clear that the Bournemouth manager’s current focus is on trying to get the best out of the players that are already at his disposal.

During his time in charge of Bournemouth, Howe has received much praise for the work that he has done and on paper the club have a squad that certainly seem capable of staying in the Premier League.

However, in reality Bournemouth have produced many unconvincing performances this season and have been vulnerable defensively as they have conceded 31 goals in the top flight.

Howe needs to be brave and bring in some extra defenders and an attacking midfielder to put some pressure on his existing players and create some competition for places.

Failing to make any signings in January could prove to be very costly indeed for Bournemouth.
