Speaking on the NUFC Matters YouTube channel, CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing Newcastle’s hunt for a new attacker and he’s named Emmanuel Dennis as a player to keep an eye on.

The Nigerian attacker made waves for Watford last season, netting double figures in his debut Premier League campaign, and, understandably, he’s attracting plenty of interest from the English top flight.

According to Jacobs, Eddie Howe is a big fan of the 24-year-old and this is one to watch out for in the coming weeks.

What’s been said?

Jacobs discussed Dennis and Newcastle.

“Emmanuel Dennis is another one to keep an eye on, simply because he was excellent for Watford even though they went down. I know that Howe likes the player. I don’t think Newcastle have made any kind of movement at this point, but it’s one to watch between now and the end of the window,” Jacobs said.

Great addition

The addition of Dennis to this Newcastle frontline would be spectacular.

The attacker showed last season just how dynamic he is going forward, and adding him into an attack that already contains Allan Saint-Maximin and Ryan Fraser would be incredible.

Dennis can play all across the front three, so he’d add a lot of depth to this side as well as quality, and after Watford’s relegation, you have to feel that he’ll be available for a decent fee.

Unfortunately, Newcastle aren’t the only team in this race. West Ham and Everton have also been credited with an interest, but given Newcastle’s immense wealth and ambition, they should be able to win the race for his signature if they decide to pursue the forward.
