Everton made two signings on deadline day last week, as defender Ben Godfrey and goalkeeper Robin Olsen arrived.
Whilst some may know of Godfrey from his Premier League campaign with Norwich City last season, Olsen was a little more of an unknown quantity for English fans.
The 30-year-old, who joined Everton on a season-long loan from Roma, has had something of a nomadic career, turning out for various Swedish minnows alongside Malmo, PAOK, Copenhagen, Roma and Cagliari.
Olsen is a Swedish international regular too, and he was in action on Sunday as Sweden lost 2-1 away at Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
Nikola Vlasic – formerly of Everton – and Andrej Kramaric found the net for Croatia, with Olsen hardly standing a chance with either goal, though he did make smart saves from Josip Brekalo and Ivan Perisic.
Everton fans may be interested to see what the Swedish press made of Olsen’s display having joined the Toffees just days ago, so we dug through some of the player ratings over in Sweden.

Aftonbladet gave Olsen a three out of five rating, branding him ‘very stable’, whilst Fotbollskanalen agreed with that rating, praising him for ‘several good saves’.
SVD gave Olsen a three out of six – don’t ask us about these rather random scoring models – suggesting that Olsen made important saves, but he is ‘weak’ when playing out from the back.
Svenska Fans went a little lower with a two out of five rating, but claimed that he ‘seems ready for the Premier League’, which will reassure Everton supporters as they prepare to see Olsen push Jordan Pickford for playing time.
