Things are not working out for Kelechi Iheanacho since his move to Leicester City from Manchester City.

Kelechi Iheanacho joined Leicester City with a reputation as one of the best young strikers in Europe.
It has not worked out for him at the King Power Stadium, with his early substitution in Tuesday’s EFL Cup defeat to his former club Manchester City a mark of how far he has fallen in such a short space of time.
The Nigerian’s early days with the Foxes were disrupted by injury but he has since failed to turn into the star signing that many expected him to following his £25m arrival in the summer – fee reported by The Guardian.
Iheanacho scoring against Tottenham for Manchester City in 2016
He has started only two Premier League games for Leicester, and his single goal so far came against Leeds United in the EFL Cup in October. This is a forward who scored his 12 league goals for City at a rate of one every 107 minutes.
Still only 21, there is plenty of time for Iheanacho to get his career back on track, and the best way to do that may be to take a step backwards and revert to the super-sub role that made him a household name at the Etihad.
Iheanacho scored match-winning goals off the bench for City, and one club crying out for that sort of impact is Tottenham Hotspur, whose 79 substitutions this season have resulted in only one goal and one assist.

Spurs have still not managed to find adequate back-up to Harry Kane, with latest signing Fernando Llorente ineffective when he is sparingly used, and the Iheanacho of his City days seems like a perfect fit.
While playing deputy to Kane, the youngster would be able to learn from one of the world’s best strikers, and coaches of young players – Mauricio Pochettino – while giving Spurs a goalscoring option off the bench.
As the Daily Star reports, Tottenham were touted with an interest in Iheanacho in the summer, and they would be wise to look again in the January window. He would be a short-term solution with long-term potential.
