Luke Shaw will only stay at Manchester United if Jose Mourinho goes first and losing to Spurs in the FA Cup could cost the manager his job.
Luke Shaw looks almost certain to leave Manchester United this summer, according to the Daily Mail, after the left-back was once again publicly criticised by manager Jose Mourinho following the 2-0 FA Cup victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.
The report claims that Chelsea now lead the race to sign Shaw, although there is also interest from Arsenal, Everton, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are arguably the most heavily tied up in the saga as Mourinho wants the Red Devils to sign their own full-back, Danny Rose, as a replacement for the 22-year-old.
Yet Tottenham could influence things even further as it is thought the only way Shaw could now stay at Old Trafford beyond this season is if Mourinho leaves first.
Well that may not be such an unrealistic prospect, with the Manchester Evening News suggesting that the Portuguese can only now save his job if he wins the FA Cup this term.
And would you believe it, but the North London outfit are the 55-year-old’s opponents in the semi-finals, meaning if they beat United it could see them get Mourinho axed but also miss out on the chance of signing Shaw.
