Leeds want to copy Wolves – could they reach out to them to sign their players?

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani looks on before the Sky Bet Championship match between Derby County and Leeds United at iPro Stadium on February 21, 2018 in Derby, England.

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani told Talksport this week that his intention is for his club to copy Wolves’ path to promotion.

Wolves have used some of the best contacts in Europe to sign top level players and are on course to win the Championship.

Radrizzani’s comments suggest he will be trying to emulate Wolves, but there could be potential for him to reach out to Jeff Shi and try to acquire some of their players.

Wolves already have a bloated squad and have more than a dozen players out on loan.

Their spending is going to go into overdrive this summer after arriving in the Premier League, and this will make some of their current squad expendable.

Who could Leeds target?

Leeds’ first port of call should be to look at players already out on loan who are not in their plans, and winger Jordan Graham is the pick of the bunch.

England under-21 defender Dominic Iorfa is on loan at Ipswich and he would be a savvy investment for the Whites.

Striker Rafa Mir signed in January after a prolific record in Spain for Valencia’s B team but he has not yet had a chance, and needs another season to get adjusted to playing in England before he will be ready for the Premier League.

Perhaps Leeds’ best option would be to pursue defender Danny Ba’ath.

He has fallen down the pecking order in the Wolves first team and one more centre-back arriving in the summer would surely push him out the door.

He could be an astute signing for Leeds, and a way for them to take their efforts to ‘copy’ Wolves a step further.
