How much do Argentina get for winning the World Cup?
Well for someone like Lionel Messi, who finally got his hands on this trophy following a pulsating victory over France in Qatar, it is simply priceless.
The former Barcelona maestro had four World Cup campaigns under his belt before this one and had come up short on every occasion.
But now the 35-year-old has finally completed his CV and, in doing so, pretty much put to bed any doubts that he is, in fact, the greatest to ever lace up a pair of football boots.
However, in terms of finances, how much do Argentina get for winning the World Cup? As it turns out, a record amount.

According to The Athletic, the winner of this showpiece would receive a total of £34.5 million – an increase on the £31.2 million that France got when beating Croatia in the final of the 2018 edition of the tournament.
As runners-up, Les Bleus will still pocket £24.6 million for falling at the final hurdle.
Overall, the prize pot of the competition was a staggering £362 million – the most that’s ever been allocated for a World Cup finals.
In 1986, the year of the Biancocelesti’s most recent triumph before this, only £2.3 million was allocated.
Each of Lionel Scaloni’s squad will pocket a percentage of the £34.5 million for their efforts but, as mentioned, that’s very much of secondary importance.
Lifting the trophy – which is valued at £16.8 million [Eurosport] – for the first time in 36 years, that’s priceless.
