Sunderland manager David Moyes would have been smart to consider a move to Ibrox over a month ago, but things have changed.
The calls for an early season sacking were ringing throughout the North East following a poor start to the campaign for David Moyes, with Sunderland nailed to the bottom of the Premier League table. It was at this time that the Scot was probably considering his options, and one of the better ones would have been a move to Rangers.
Mark Warburton has certainly done an impressive job with the Glasgow-based side, but a number of off the pitch issues combined with the fact they are quickly losing pace with rivals Celtic may have provided warning signs for the men behind the scenes.

In terms of Moyes, an example of how the Old Firm can provide rehabilitation comes in the for of Brendan Rodgers. The man who failed towards the end of his Liverpool stint has been reborn at Celtic Park, which is ironically a job Moyes himself was supposedly lined up for.
In a league where the pressure isn’t as great and the quality certainly does not compare, Moyes would have been able to push the restart button on his managerial career after a string of bad moves. However, the former United boss has proven that he has the skills necessary to turn things round at the Stadium of Light and now it’s just a case of thinking “what if”.
