Rob Green has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:45pm, March 6, 2023) that Liverpool midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho could struggle to keep their level of performance against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

Liverpool hammered Manchester United 7-0 at home this past weekend.

Midfielders Henderson and Fabinho were brilliant for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The two players imposed themselves in the middle of the park and simply dominated proceedings in midfield.

Klopp said that Henderson was “incredible” for Liverpool against United.

Brazil international defensive midfielder Fabinho is also starting to get into good form.

However, former West Ham United and Leeds United goalkeeper Green believes that Henderson and Fabinho could struggle in the coming weeks and months.

Green said: “It’s the same for Fabinho and Henderson. How many times can they replicate that performance?

“Because at the minute it has not been too often, they are not going to replicate 7-0 wins every week, are they?

“But, it’s gonna be a big ask for them to do it week in and week out, I think.”

Staying positive

Jordan Henderson is past his prime, and his Liverpool teammate Fabinho has not been at his best this season.

So, you can understand why Rob Green has doubts over the two midfielders.

However, there is no denial that Henderson and Fabinho are hugely influential figures who are leaders and who know how to get the job done.

Liverpool have started to play well and keep clean sheets, and they are now very much in the running for the Premier League top four this season.

Henderson will continue to give his all for the team, and Fabinho’s recent good form could be there until the end of the season.

Liverpool fans should stay positive about the duo.
