Moussa Sissoko has been busy in the transfer market as Tottenham Hotspur boss on Football Manager.
Moussa Sissoko found some time between Tottenham Hotspur’s North London derby defeat to Arsenal and their Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund to play a bit of Football Manager this week.
The Frenchman’s Instagram story showed that he has taken charge of Spurs on the popular simulation game, and he appears to have been busy in the transfer market, signing no fewer than five players to the squad.
The below screenshot, albeit blurry, shows Sissoko’s Spurs lineup. There is no sign of Harry Kane, but the 28-year-old does start himself on the right wing and the rarely-spotted Georges-Kevin NKoudou on the left.
The quality of the image makes it difficult to read some of the names, but as far as we can tell Sissoko has signed Alban Lafont, Jonathan Tah, Alex Telles, Yannick Gerhardt and Celtic forward Moussa Dembele (unless he is experimenting with the Spurs midfielder of the same name in an unfamiliar number-nine role).
Of that quintet, 18-year-old Toulouse goalkeeper Lafont and Wolfsburg midfielder Gerhardt are unlikely to be on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar, but the other three would be useful additions to Tottenham’s real squad.
With Danny Rose’s future uncertain amid links to Manchester United, as The Mirror reports, Porto left-back Alex Telles would be good competition for Ben Davies, although so would Ryan Sessegnon and Kieran Tierney.
According to The Guardian, Tottenham nearly signed 21-year-old Dembele from Fulham in 2016, and he would be an option well worth exploring again with Kane still desperately short of support in the striking ranks.
And finally, Bayer Leverkusen defender Tah is a German international who would be a decent contingency plan should Toby Alderweireld not sign a new contract in North London and force Spurs into selling.
With January around the corner, Pochettino could do worse than ask Sissoko for transfer advice.
