We take a look at a combined XI from the current Tottenham Hotspur side and Harry Redknapp’s entertainers.

Mauricio Pochetinno has arguably assembled the best Spurs them in recent history, during his time at White Hart Lane.

There are some who would argue that Harry Redknapp’s ‘entertainers’ were more enjoyable to watch, but it is hard to make a case for them being more efficient than the current crop of Tottenham stars.

Here is our combined XI from Pochettino’s side and the class of 2009/10 under Redknapp:

GK – Hugo Lloris:

There can be little argument here. Widely considered as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, the Frenchman has just put pen-to-paper on a new six-year deal with Spurs.

RB – Kyle Walker:

The England international has gone from strength-to-strength over the past few years, and he provides such a strong attacking threat for his side from his defensive position.

LB – Danny Rose:

Much the same as Walker, Rose has proven himself to be such a big asset for both club and country over the past couple of years.

CB pairing – Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld:

Now, leaving out Ledley King was a hugely controversial call.

But with his injury record, we went with the Belgian duo, as they represent a more durable, unified pairing.

CM – Luka Modric:

The Croatian’s inclusion is a no-brainer. He has never really been replaced at Tottenham since his departure to Real Madrid in 2012, and what the fans wouldn’t give to have a player of his ilk back amongst their first-team.

CM – Mousa Dembele:

The Belgian is widely considered as the most talented player amongst the Spurs squad.

LW – Christian Eriksen:

Although some Tottenham fans have been critical of the Dane’s performances over the last couple of years, he is still Spurs’ most creative player.

RW – Gareth Bale:

The Welshman is easily one of the world’s best players, and if he was still at Tottenham now, it would be hard to see past them being Premier League champions.

ACM – Dele Alli:

The 20-year-old has been a revelation at White Hart Lane since his move from MK Dons at the start of last year. His position between Bale and Eriksen would make up a dream three behind the main striker.

CF – Harry Kane:

The England international is one of the league’s finest strikers, and would be the focal point of a formidable front four.

Do you agree with the selected XI? Who was unlucky to miss out? And who was lucky to make the line-up?
